The Sound Of Snowdonia

This project for Antelope Audio took me to Snowdonia to explore the relationship between sound, space and landscape.

The film was built around the idea that sound is shaped by the places we experience it in. Rather than approaching it like a traditional product video, I wanted the technology to sit naturally inside a wider story about environment, acoustics and the character of the Welsh landscape.

It was a very different kind of production from the faster social work I often do. There was more time to observe, compose images and let the location become part of the storytelling. That contrast is something I really enjoy about filmmaking: one project can demand speed and instinct, while another benefits from patience and careful planning.

Snowdonia gave the film a visual identity of its own, and the aim was to create something that felt atmospheric and cinematic while still communicating the ideas behind Antelope Audio’s work.

It remains one of my favourite examples of combining my backgrounds in filmmaking and audio within the same project.
